Anyone offering a hazardous material for shipment must properly identify and classify the substance into one (or more) of the nine UN/DOT hazard classes. Testing can be required for proper shipping classification based on the sample type and potential hazards. Several common UN Series tests will be reviewed based on the material and potential hazard.
