Don't Be a HAZMAT Pirate - Proper Classification & Safe Transport of Reactive Chemicals and Lithium-Ion Batteries Webinar Video

Whether by air, highway or sea, hazardous materials are shipped all over the world to keep our supply chain running. There are many unique challenges when potentially energetic, highly reactive, or “dangerous when wet” materials are transported in bulk quantities. Safety considerations, including proper identification and classification of dangerous goods, are necessary to prevent fire or hazardous chemical reactions during transport and to protect both the lives and livelihoods of truck drivers, pilots, crew members, and first responders.
Recent disruption in the global supply chain has highlighted several instances where the improper shipment of energetic materials has resulted in fire or loss of cargo. This webinar reviews the events that highlight the need for understanding and adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT), the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (particularly the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes (IMSBC) code), United Nations (UN), and other transportation requirements.
