Plugfest 2024, Overview and Presentations – Hosted by DEKRA and OCA
DEKRA and OCA Usher in the Inaugural US OCPP Plugfest in Sterling, Virginia
Sterling, Va.
The electric vehicle (EV) charging landscape witnessed a significant milestone as DEKRA North America, in collaboration with the Open Charge Alliance (OCA), hosted the first-ever US OCPP Plugfest on March 5 and 6, 2024. This event aimed to bring together some of the brightest minds in the EV charging sector to test and share insights on the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) 2.0.1 and 1.6 devices.
Offering a blend of online and in-person participation, Plugfest provided a platform for developers to test their charging stations and management systems. Beyond testing, the event was enriched with a networking dinner on the first evening, fostering connections and discussions among peers. The subsequent day was packed with workshops, demonstrations, and a special look into DEKRA's state-of-the-art Testing Capabilities, all designed to offer a deep dive into the latest in the Future of Mobility technology.
Highlighting the importance of the event, representatives from DEKRA and OCA emphasized Plugfest’s crucial role in promoting innovation, collaboration, and standardization across the global EV charging infrastructure. This initiative is part of a broader mission to ensure the seamless integration of EVs into the energy grid and urban environments. Following the event's success, attendees can download a wide array of presentations and materials. These resources are designed to further the knowledge gained at the Plugfest and foster continued innovation and collaboration in the EV charging community.
