The expert organization DEKRA is taking over specialist laboratory k-labor GmbH in Bretten, near Karlsruhe. In doing so, DEKRA is expanding its network of laboratories for chemical analytics and material testing, adding new expertise in the testing of plastics as well as enhanced possibilities for environmental simulation testing. The new addition enables DEKRA to round off its testing portfolio, in particular for manufacturers of vehicle parts and the medical technology sector.

k-labor in Bretten is an accredited laboratory for material testing and failure analytics. The company is a specialist in environmental simulation testing and mechanical testing, and has particular strengths in material testing for plastics, elastomers, and metals. Its clients include renowned manufacturers from the automotive, mechanical engineering, and medical technology industries. The laboratory can conduct its tests according to national and international standards as well as manufacturer specifications.
k-labor GmbH’s portfolio complements the expertise of DEKRA’s network of laboratories under the umbrella of DEKRA Automobil GmbH. This network includes the laboratories for environmental and product analytics in Stuttgart and Halle, and the laboratory for materials engineering and failure analysis in Saarbrücken. To meet the needs of the automotive industry, DEKRA’s network of testing laboratories is now able to offer a comprehensive range of services for testing internal vehicle parts, covering their chemical safety and material properties as well as the environmental influences to which they are exposed.
