Global market leader DEKRA was the first new testing organization to open a testing center since the vehicle testing reform in Luxembourg. At the official celebration, François Bausch, Minister for Sustainable Development and Infrastructure, said: “The reform process that I initiated three years ago diversifies the offer in the field of technical vehicle inspection in Luxembourg and certainly makes it more interesting to customers.” Customer operations with vehicle inspections at DEKRA in Luxembourg will start in February, 2018.
“With our extensive international experience and the effectiveness of our company, we want to help ensure the high technical standard of vehicles in Luxembourg and thus offer drivers an additional service alternative,” said Dr. Gerd Neumann, Chairman of the Management Board of DEKRA Automobil GmbH. “We have been focusing on and carefully preparing this objective for over a year. We are delighted that all legal requirements have now been met and we can offer vehicle inspections in Luxembourg in a few weeks’ time.”
The first DEKRA testing center in Luxembourg is located in the town of Bertrange, west of the capital. A state-of-the-art testing center has been set up on the site of Autocenter Goedert at the Bourmicht business park, in the direct vicinity of the A6 highway. “Here, our customers and employees can find an optimum environment for the inspection of cars and commercial vehicles,” said Thomas Reuter, Technical Manager of DEKRA Automotive S.à r.l.
To start with, six DEKRA employees will be working in the first testing center in Luxembourg. Appointments for dates from 1, February can be scheduled via the website www.dekra-automotive.lu, which will go online during January.
