DEKRA at 2021 Husum Wind trade show

Expertise in Sustainable Energy

Sep 13, 2021

The experts at DEKRA will be exhibiting their comprehensive range of wind power products and services at the 2021 Husum Wind trade show (September 14 to 17, 2021). DEKRA offers specialist knowledge and innovative solutions that cover the whole service life of wind turbines – from project planning through safe and reliable operation to solutions for antiquated systems.

Wind energy is a key technology in the clean energy revolution. The amount of energy it provides to the energy mix is increasingly important. It also generates surplus energy that can be used for the production of net-zero fuels – in particular, hydrogen. In day-to-day use, the high-tech systems must withstand high, alternating loads while remaining safe and commercially viable. Failures and accidents can cause a lot of damage.
DEKRA is already putting its expertise to work in supporting operators and investors across Europe as they search for locations (e.g., by offering long-term wind measurements as well as feasibility and environmental reports). DEKRA has approvals to carry out all the recurring tests and inspections with regard to structural stability and environmental protection during operation. And the expert organization also offers training courses on health and safety for operators.
The organizers of the Husum Wind trade show have announced that they are planning an in-person event again this year with some 300 exhibitors – and 10,000 visitors are expected. On top of that, there will be specialist forums, events, and conferences. This year, the topic of green hydrogen will be explored at the trade show for the first time as a new exhibition category. DEKRA will display its entire range of solutions for the wind energy sector at the show, which include:
  • Wind measurement
  • Service lift testing
  • Crane testing
  • Electrical engineering testing
  • Pressure vessel testing
  • Continuing operation appraisal
  • Turbine inspection
  • Safety coordinator
  • Work safety specialist
  • Risk analyses
  • Gearbox inspection
  • Safety equipment
  • Hydrogen safety
DEKRA’s commitment to the wind energy sector is a part of its ambitious Sustainability Strategy 2025. DEKRA is committed to the principles of the UN Global Compact and supports the vision of a sustainable global economy. It will be a net-zero business by 2025. Plus, DEKRA has recently become a member of the Hydrogen Europe industry association.
The expert organization is systematically developing an innovative range of sustainability-related services to support customers with future-facing sustainability solutions. This includes sustainability consulting and training, product sustainability, certifications, audits, carbon accounting, supply chain sustainability, sustainability standards in sport, and many other independent services.
