DEKRA opens new testing laboratories in East Asia

International expert organization DEKRA is expanding its testing and certification business in East Asia. DEKRA has established a testing laboratory for the "Internet of Things" (IoT) in the high-tech region of Linkou, Taiwan. Meanwhile, a DEKRA laboratory for testing electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and wireless technologies has been set up on the new campus of computer manufacturer Lenovo in Beijing, China.
The new laboratory in Linkou specializes in IoT applications. Its establishment is an important step in the course of organic growth, with DEKRA having reinforced its position in 2015 in the IT and automotive industries by acquiring testing companies QuieTek, iST and AT4 wireless. The laboratory in Linkou offers a wide range of testing and certification services, including EMC, radio frequency and wireless technologies, mobile applications, internet of things, cybersecurity and interoperability, chemical analysis and tests for usability and reliability.
Lenovo benefits from DEKRA's extensive experience in testing electronic products in accordance with numerous international standards. Thanks to the new independent testing facilities in Beijing, DEKRA can now can assist the manufacturer even more effectively in cutting the time to market when new products are being launched worldwide. Intermediate tests during the development phase can make the approval and certification process noticeably quicker.
