DEKRA continues expansion of its Cyber Security portfolio
DEKRA launches the state-of-the-art “IoT Security Assessment as a Service” based on GSMA Guidelines
Oct 08, 2019
DEKRA has been recognized by the GSMA as a security laboratory to offer the GSMA IoT Security Assessment as a Service, providing additional security capabilities to the whole IoT ecosystem. These services can support companies without the necessary resources or expertise to complete a security assessment and test their IoT solutions to ensure end-to-end security.
DEKRA assessments along with the GSMA IoT Security Assessment framework provide companies a flexible path that addresses the diversity of the IoT market and enables organizations to build more secure IoT devices and solutions.
“The GSMA’s IoT Security Guidelines and IoT Security Assessment address the most common cybersecurity and data privacy issues associated with IoT services and outlines a step-by-step process to securely launch solutions into the market,” commented Graham Trickey, Head of Internet of Things, Programme, GSMA. “An aligned and consistent approach to IoT security creates trusted, reliable services and enables the market to scale.”
“We are very proud and satisfied having obtained the recognition from GSMA as a security lab for GSMA IoT Security Assessments. This new service expands our cyber security services portfolio for IoT devices, which DEKRA continuously develops,” says Fernando E. Hardasmal, Executive Vice President and Head of Service Division Product Testing at DEKRA.
“Needless to say, it’s key that IoT devices meet cyber security, safety and performance standards to safeguard customer data and protect their reputation,” says José Emilio Rico, Head of Cyber Security at DEKRA Testing and Certification, S.A.U.
Expansion of the scope of cyber security testing and certification services for different market verticals, as well as customer orientation, are priorities for DEKRA. Tailored cyber security testing with vulnerability analyses, penetration testing, privacy and security evaluations are some of the main services provided to customers at the moment.
