Certification for DSRC-based V2V-Technology

DEKRA first OmniAir authorized test lab in Europe

May 18, 2018

International expert organization DEKRA has expanded its conformance and interoperability certification program with OmniAir. DEKRA’s laboratory and connected car test area in Malaga, Spain is now an OmniAir Authorized Test Laboratory (OATL) for dedicated short-range communications (DSRC)-based vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) technology.

At their connected car test area DEKRA exercises connected car scenarios using V2X beacons as well as safety applications, such as forward collision warnings, 'heavy braking ahead,' intersection collision warnings and road-side infrastructure warnings. The test track includes a 90-meter long tunnel and a simulated cityscape with intersections and curves.
OmniAir’s certification program provides third-party accredited laboratory testing and validation of DSRC-based V2V devices to ensure that device manufacturers, suppliers and automotive OEMs develop products that conform to industry standards and specifications, leading to trusted device communications.
