DEKRA Certifies Wind Turbines and Their Components

DEKRA EXAM has obtained the approval of the German accreditation body (DAkkS) to perform certifications, also in line with IEC 61400. This means that the specialists are now permitted to perform type certifications for entire wind turbines. As a result, DEKRA is bundling its many years of experience and expertise in the testing and certification of components in line with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
In the type certification of wind turbines, the focus is particularly placed on safe, reliable and uninterrupted use and the health of maintenance and support staff.
The range of services comprises type and component certifications in accordance with the certification procedure in line with IEC 61400-22 in compliance with the IEC 61400 series of standards and other technical rules. The experts evaluate design documentation, manufacturing and type testing. In addition to the safety of the components and systems installed, DEKRA EXAM also offers the evaluation of functional safety and technical fire safety.
