DEKRA at WindEnergy Trade Fair in Hamburg for the First Time

A Network of Experts on Wind Power

Sep 27, 2016
The DEKRA expert organization is presenting its expertise at the WindEnergy trade fair in Hamburg from September 27 to 30 for the first time. Numerous experts from the nationwide network of DEKRA specialists will be available to talk with manufacturers and operators of wind turbines.

Ever since the testing market was deregulated, DEKRA has continuously built up and expanded its services for the wind power industry. For example, DEKRA subsidiary DEKRA EXAM recently obtained the approval of the German accreditation body (DAkkS) to perform certifications in line with IEC 61400 and more. The specialists are now performing type certifications for entire onshore wind turbines. The range comprises type and component certifications in accordance with the certification procedure in line with IEC 61400-22 in compliance with the IEC 61400 series of standards and other rules.

Under the umbrella of DEKRA Automobil GmbH, the Germany-wide network of experts also provides expert services for all phases of wind energy projects—from planning and production to commissioning—to operators of wind turbines and wind farms. The portfolio also includes the periodic inspections. The experts make sure that the wind turbine meets all statutory and safety-related requirements and minimize safety and failure risks by:

• Performing inspections upon commissioning
• Performing periodic inspections
• Performing warranty inspections
• Performing condition-based inspections
• Preparing damage reports and court-ordered appraisals
• Performing technical due diligence (technical condition check)
